This is a good example of a large (ht.11 1/2 inches) Carltonware’s  Forest Tree 3244 pattern,which displays really effectively on this large ginger jar and cover.

This Fantasy Design piece has the matt glaze, blue ground, with exotic trees with birch-like white/black trunks and pendant foliage in lavender and orange, further embellishment with copious gilding. Dates to 1920′s 30′s Deco period.
