First, go into the post you’re editing. Look on the right side below the category box, and you’ll see a post thumbnail section – click “Set Thumbnail”. You will need to re-upload any image you would like to display as a thumbnail at the right dimensions. Unfortunately, WP post thumbnails doesn’t resize on the fly, although this feature should be added in the future, so you’ll need to re-upload these images, just like you normally would. Once you upload the image and it’s being displayed, right below the image dimension options, next to where you would insert the image into the post, there’s a link that says “Use as Thumbnail” click that. You have now assigned the thumbnail for this post. You can also add all the other info, like title, alt text, etc. right here.
